What You Will Do:

Appfire is a global team of awesome humans working all around the world: US, Poland, India, Spain, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Turkey and Canada. You'll work with the BI/Reporting team and focus on building the best solutions to report metrics. So you'll intensively design and implement APIs, together with building services that scale and perform.

We are “Cloud first”, meaning that the cloud development is the spearhead. Everything is first incorporated into the Cloud apps, then move to the Data Center versions. A new cache mechanism? a new storage strategy? a new integration? First Cloud, then Data Center. And here comes the but

But, your first big challenge will be to create the Cloud version of an existing top performant app in Data Center: Dataplane. This app is designed for metrics-focused technical, product and project managers who require sophisticated charting and analysis of KPIs and trends in their Jira data. The customers are really large Jira instances that rely on our proprietary data engine to reach back in time and look at historical trends, chart the timing of transitions or analyze projects. And all this almost instantly. Your team will have to come up with an architecture, services and storage system that perform at the same level of the Data Center counterpart. The team relies on you but don't worry, you'll be in a top-notch team.

When you start…

There's a well-stablished onboarding process, where you're guided in your first steps in Appfire. Because, let's be honest, starting a new job is stressful! You navigate to a new working environment, try to make a good impression, learn the ins and outs of your new job, and understand what your manager expects of you… Your manager will take care of all aspects of onboarding, but we'll also assign a Buddy that will pair you. A buddy is someone familiar with the corporate culture, norms, and expectations of the company. This makes easier for you to get up to speed and build workplace friendships!

Where you start…

You'll work remotely, so we'll provide you with all the necessary equipment (computer, headset, keyboard, mouse, monitor…).

How you'll work

Teams within Appfire are small cross-functional teams. We rely on specialized teams for help on different challenges, and apply a pragmatic approach to Scrum with two weeks sprints in a continuous deployment process with everything integrated and automated: From Jira, Confluence, Bamboo or Bitbucket to Slack, when you push your code, the wheel starts to spin. The product team works in a Triad: Product manager, product marketing manager and the head of product engineer to coordinate all the moving pieces of the product life cycle.

Who You'll Do It With:

  • Iñigo Gonzalez (Principal Software Engineer) – Iñigo has worked the last 8 years building apps for the Atlassian cloud. Ask him about any API from the Atlassian suite and he'll analyze and rant about it! He co-founded RoninPixels, the company behind the app Dashboard Hub, company acquired by Appfire.
  • Gorka Puente (Principal Product Manager) – Gorka has spent the last 10 years as product manager in the Atlassian ecosystem, and he was a researcher in the University in a previous life. He’s also co-founder of RoninPixels.
  • Steve Kling (Head of Product Engineering) – With more than 25 years of experience, Steve leads the team building the cloud app development framework that is bringing our apps to new limits. We are lucky having him in the team, because he brings tons of knowledge solving challenges when it comes to bring Data Center apps to the Cloud!
  • David Goldstein (Chief Product Architect) – More than 30 years of experience, half of that time in the Atlassian ecosystem and proudly creator of Dataplane for Jira. With his clear vision and product insights, the team will be able to focus on the interesting technical challenges.
