The below yearly recap was originally featured in our monthly Bob’s Friday Favorites newsletter.
Whew, what a year! While I think many of us are glad to leave 2020 behind us, I thought I’d start the new year off on a positive note and reflect on some of the good things that came out of this challenging year.
Earlier this year, we joined forces with our new partners at Silversmith Capital, a Boston-based equity firm that shares our passion for helping our customers and our vision for sustainable, long-term growth. Our Appfire team has built a pretty solid foundation over the past 15 years, and this partnership lets us build on that foundation by focusing even more on better product experiences, expanded customer support, new brands and apps, and ecosystem partners.
We continued to Build the Flame in 2020 by welcoming not one, but five established brands along with their visionary founders and wonderful teams to the Appfire family. Please give a big warm welcome to Botron, Beecom Products, Innovalog, AIO, and Artemis. I’ve known some of these founders for many years, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!
In addition to growing our portfolio, we’ve brought on new leaders to help guide our long-term strategy to build what matters, create technically sound products, and address the needs of our customers.
In 2020, we set out to launch cloud versions of many of our most popular apps. I’m excited to share that we launched 10 cloud apps this year, with a few more on the way. With Atlassian’s server end of life announcement earlier this year, having cloud versions of our top apps ensures that we can stay true to our mission to provide you with the best support possible, whether you’re sticking with server for a little longer, or making the move to cloud or Data Center.
To round out the list, here are a few more highlights from our Appfire team:
- 29 — Apps joined the Appfire portfolio, bringing the total to 88 apps!
- 73 — Apps are recognized by Atlassian as “Top-selling” on the Marketplace
- 168 — Countries worldwide where our apps are helping teams
- 3,236 — Resolved support tickets (with an average score of 4.8/5!)
- 80% — How much our Appfire team grew!
And last but not least, we turned 15 years old!
While I’m excited to share these accomplishments, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the difficult times we’ve all seen this year. Times that have pushed us to remember our humanity, inspired us to give back, and reinforced our commitment to charitable giving.
As we enter the new year, I find myself full of gratitude and hope. I’m thankful for our team, and its resilience, and the ability to continue to create great products for makers like you.
