What’s it handy for?
Use JMWE Cloud to ensure there are proper checks in place before a Jira issue can transition to a certain status. In our example, we’ll set that only team leads can close issues after they passed QA.

To get started:
- Install Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE). More details →
- Create a draft of your Jira project workflow
- Select the transition for which you want to restrict issue flow (e.g. from “Testing” to “Done” status)
- Select User Condition (JMWE app) from the list of condition, then specify the criteria for allowing the transition to happen (e.g. current user belongs to the Product Owners group)
- Publish the draft and test your new approval workflow
