What’s it handy for?
Use CMJ Cloud to automate the deployment of Jira project configuration elements from one Jira cloud site to another. This is useful in:
- Validating project configuration changes safely in sandbox environments
- Moving project configurations as templates or frameworks for new teams
Why CMJ for Cloud-to-Cloud deployments?
CMJ Cloud is built to protect the integrity of the destination Jira Cloud site by blocking breaking changes. The app analyzes each change that will be introduced and then identifies and elevates the ones that aren't compatible with the destination Jira Cloud site so the admin can make changes. The detailed analysis screen is the first of its kind on the market, giving admins full transparency through itemized changes and conflicts.
To get started:
Install and license Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) on your source and target Jira Cloud applications (more details).
- Authorize each application using an admin API token
- Select New Deployment from Configuration Manager on your source instance
- Follow along with the prompts in the deployment wizard to connect your two cloud applications, select projects for migration, analyze changes, and migrate.
