Digital Toucan joins Appfire, enhancing offerings in Workflow & Automation and Agile categories

We are thrilled to announce Appfire’s acquisition of Digital Toucan! This acquisition brings to our portfolio the leading Atlassian Marketplace app for extending the functionality of Jira Query Language — JQL Search Extensions for Jira — and a fast-growing favorite, OKR for Jira, which was funded by Atlassian Ventures. These apps, and the extraordinarily talented Digital Toucan team, will further enhance Appfire’s offerings in the Workflow & Automation and Agile categories.

Digital Toucan was founded in 2016 to help customers find success and achieve their goals using Jira. With deep experience in agile software development and many years developing Jira apps as part of the Atlassian team, the Digital Toucan team and their apps bring Jira data to life.

A highly skilled team of engineers comes on board

The entire Digital Toucan team — based in Cyprus and Poland and led by Co-Founders Filip Rogaczewski and Daniel Turczanski — has joined Appfire.

“Digital Toucan’s Cloud-first Atlassian apps align with our vision to make work flow for teams,” says Appfire CEO and Co-Founder Randall Ward. “Our customers will be able to better plan and deliver their work by navigating their Jira instance with JQL Search Extensions and measuring their planning efforts against company objectives and key results with OKR for Jira. Plus, we are welcoming a highly skilled team of engineers and product managers with deep expertise in the Atlassian ecosystem and Cloud app development.”

Indeed, Digital Toucan’s apps enhance Jira workflows and enable more connected agile planning. JQL Search Extensions for Jira will help round out Appfire’s broad Workflow & Automation category, allowing customers to enhance their search capabilities within Jira, and OKR for Jira, which is also applicable to ITSM use cases, will address widely requested functionality for those involved with agile planning.

“By leveraging Appfire’s well-established platform and infrastructure, including the support of more than 700 colleagues across important administrative and technical functions, we can continue to enhance the functionality of our apps for customers worldwide,” say Filip and Daniel. “This is a great opportunity for our team to grow and to contribute to the growth of other Appfire products as well.”

Digital Toucan customers are in great hands and can expect the same top level of product support with Appfire. There will be no immediate changes to the license renewal process. Customers can simply renew with their Atlassian reseller or directly on the Atlassian Marketplace. The current functionalities of Digital Toucan’s products will remain the same, and with the support of Appfire’s infrastructure, customers can look forward to continued investment in the product roadmaps with regular updates and improvements.
