That’s a wrap on Atlassian Team ‘24! We came. We saw. We spread the word about finding your workflow mojo with Appfire during engaging sessions, exciting booth demos, and insightful conversations with partners, customers, and ecosystem peers. As a strategic sponsor of this year’s event and the exclusive sponsor of the Marketplace Theater, we were thrilled to get a front-row seat to all the innovation that’s unfolding and to experience the buzz around big announcements from Atlassian.
We’re sharing a recap of our week in Las Vegas — what we’re most proud of as a team and what we’re most excited about as we look to the future of the ecosystem.
Exciting updates from Atlassian
There were so many highlights and key moments from this year’s event, with exciting announcements from Atlassian about major enhancements and integrations, innovative programs and new products, with an emphasis on evolving collaboration and AI-driven productivity.
Here’s a glimpse at what we learned:
- Atlassian Rovo: Atlassian Intelligence is continuing to expand AI technologies across its product portfolio, and introduced its newest paid product, Rovo, which supports users in finding, learning, and taking action based on accessible data across multiple sources. Rovo acts as an intelligent agent to turn data and insights into actionable steps, streamlining workflows and enhancing collaborative efforts. Appfire was announced as a participant in Atlassian Rovo’s early access program.
- Loom: There was lots of buzz around Loom, which Atlassian recently acquired, and its integration that aims to scale human connection without the burden of excessive meetings. The idea is that enhanced use of Loom for video updates and meeting reductions promotes and supports asynchronous work models. In fact, since they started using Loom, Atlassian has removed 500,000 meetings. Atlassian also noted they are launching Loom AI for developer teams.
- Jira: Jira Work Management and Jira Software have merged, enhancing flexibility in project management terminology, offering a new list view and bringing AI-driven features to improve productivity. This change is also meant to increase the synergy between Jira and Confluence.
- Atlassian Guard: Atlassian announced the launch of Atlassian Guard, a new comprehensive security suite designed to protect, detect, and guard within the Atlassian Cloud environment.
- Atlassian University: All Atlassian University courses are now free. With numerous learning paths, it’s now even easier to develop foundational knowledge of Atlassian products, learn skills related to specific product roles, and earn Atlassian certifications.
“The common theme across announcements shared at Team ‘24 is that Atlassian is going all in on AI,” said Appfire’s VP of Product Management Paul Lechner. “This commitment speaks to the growing demand for AI from customers and teams, and its integration across Atlassian products is a natural next step. Appfire has already been identified as a marketplace partner that will build products with the AI capabilities that come from exciting advancements like Rovo, which opens up huge opportunities through AI agents to unlock enterprise knowledge.”

An Appfire solution and insight for every team
For teams looking to conquer backlogs, SLAs and metrics like a boss and share knowledge, scale productivity, and multitask like a maestro, the Appfire booth was the place to be throughout Team ‘24. We enjoyed presenting demos and chatting with customers and partners about tackling their biggest challenges with the help of our featured solutions: Agile Work Management, ITSM, and Workflow and Automation. We also unveiled our newest solution, Knowledge Management, to help teams simplify document handling and improve Confluence collaboration, and we spotlighted HelpDesk+, a key app in our ITSM solution.
We were so proud of our Appfire team members who presented on main stages throughout the event on a range of timely topics, including building customer trust, automation in Jira, the power of DevOps, agile transformation, conquering compliance with knowledge management, being an Atlassian Creator, and enterprise service management.
Connecting with — and celebrating with — our partners
Team ‘24 was an opportunity to connect with our incredible partners and take part in impactful conversations about our products and solutions as well as opportunities for increased partnership. Highlights included:
- Holding a partner reception that drew more than 150 attendees and a breakfast with 30 of our partners.
- Hosting more than 30 meetings in our Partner Suite with both new partners and our most strategic partners, and setting up stations there to talk about how Appfire can help them across our Partner Program, with benefits including access to our Partner Portal, training, growth programs, co-marketing opportunities and more.
- Hearing from Appfire’s SVP of Global Channel & Field Operations Colin Puckett, who presented at Partner Accelerate on how Marketplace and channel partners can work together for the good of the ecosystem.
“Because of our authentic approach to building relationships with our partners, it felt like we were reconnecting with old friends in the Partner Suite,” said Senior Director of Channel Strategy & Operations Rick Buie. “We discussed their business challenges; how our easy-to-use, self-service tools can help them any time; and how we can elevate our partnerships through strategic programs and stories we can tell together in the market. And we gave partners a space where they could step away from the busy expo hall for a break.”
During the event, we also took time to celebrate our fellow Atlassian Partner Award winners and their accomplishments. This year, Appfire was honored to be named Atlassian Partner of the Year 2023 Marketplace Partner Channel Growth. This new award recognizes Marketplace partners that are developing relationships and programs to support Atlassian Solution Partners. Appfire does not have a direct sales team — we are 100% partner focused. With 35+ team members dedicated to partner success, Appfire’s Channel team consistently strives to engage, train, and grow our partners for joint success.
“Atlassian talked quite a bit during Team about their investments in going to market through value-added solutions, as well as a focus on growing in the enterprise,” said Colin. “We couldn’t be more excited, as we’ve been building our enterprise programs through a solutions-based approach to selling through partners for over a year now. We’ve worked hard to build our programs — including our Trust Center and Training & Certification program — in alignment with Atlassian’s strategic vision, and we’re ready to plug right into these programs and opportunities with our partners.”
An activity with heart
With a jam-packed agenda and buzzing expo floor, it was heartwarming to see so many attendees pause at the Atlassian Foundation/Pledge 1% booth to take part in an Appfire Town activity to raise awareness for PANS/PANDAS and the JBC Fund. In coordination with Atlassian, Pledge 1% and Adaptavist, attendees made nearly 600 stuffed panda toys that were donated to a children’s hospital in Las Vegas.
Appfire Town, our corporate social responsibility program, invites Appfire employees, friends, family, partners, customers and others to become “neighbors” and to help generate a strong social impact in our local and global communities. When the family of an Appfire team member became impacted by PANS/PANDAS, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Fabian Lopez and the Appfire Town team jumped into action. This activity during Team ‘24 was just one way the program could help make an impact.
Following the event, the Atlassian Foundation told us that this initiative far exceeded their expectations and brought the largest turnout they’ve ever had at their booth. Mission accomplished!
Community and innovation at every turn
Indeed, the whole week was an opportunity to come together to learn from, engage with, inspire and support our ecosystem peers and customers. There was a strong focus on community and innovation at every turn, and the excitement about what’s to come was palpable.
“Going to Team ’24 felt like going home for a family reunion,” said Holly Wright, head of Marketplace Success for Appfire. “The conversations I had with both longtime and brand new customers, channel partners, marketplace partners, Atlassians, and my fellow Appfire peers inspired me to double down on my personal investment in this community. Everyone brought such a collaborative ‘How can we help each other?’ vibe that left me feeling more confident than ever that the Atlassian ecosystem will continue to thrive and grow in incredible ways.”
We think Holly summed it up best. We are incredibly proud to be part of such an innovative ecosystem that supports and champions its partners and customers and continuously moves its marketplace forward. We’re so grateful to Atlassian for another spectacular Team event!
