Imagine a world where corporate social responsibility is driven by the people: where causes important to the hearts and minds of your team, family members, customers, and partners are put into action and backed with volunteers and resources to make a difference.

This is how Appfire Town came to fruition. Following our commitment to #LivingThePledge with Pledge 1% and our dedication to all four pledge types — product, profit, equity, and employee time — we launched the “global town with heart and soul.” We invite everyone to become a “neighbor” in Appfire Town to share their ideas and help us execute on them.

Our “town’s” growing impact

Like any community, Appfire Town is an expanding group of people who share the same values, and whose ideas and passions are directly linked to the initiatives we support. As we like to say, if it’s big in your heart, it’s big to us.

This GivingTuesday, we are continuing the tradition of sharing some exciting milestones and impactful memories we’ve made over the past year with the support of the broader community.

Over the last year, we reached a 77% engagement rate by Appfire team members, well above the industry average of 26%. With the help of our neighbors, we’ve impacted over 940 organizations, volunteered 4,369 hours, and donated $450,000 to support a broad range of causes worldwide.

Here are just some of the ways we’ve made an impact:

  • Hosted the second “Resilience and Empathy” music festival in Argentina to support International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
  • Participated in Adrenaline Therapy Sessions with California-based Warfighter Made, a program that supports veterans and their families.
  • Packed "welcome home" kits for Transition House clients impacted by domestic violence in Cambridge, MA.
  • Planted trees and built amenities in Ecuador with CHOICE Humanitarian.
  • Teamed up with Ocean Rescue Alliance International to protect marine life by working on an artificial reef in South Florida.
  • Partnered with ENGin, a nonprofit organization that pairs youth and young adult Ukrainians affected by the war with English speakers for free online conversation practice and cross-cultural connection so they can practice English and prepare for future global work opportunities.
  • Refurbished a school and a home for the elderly in Hyderabad, India.
  • Supported World Hunger Day through a little friendly donation competition amongst Appfire regions (based on volunteer hours logged and donations made) and donations hand delivered to food banks.
  • Conducted a cleanup of Dushantsi Lake in Bulgaria.
  • Provided assistance to Turkey following the earthquake there.
  • Fixed up a horse therapy ranch in California.
  • Completed a park cleanup in Seattle.
  • Mentored high school students during a business competition designed to help nurture their interests and goals, in partnership with SuitUp.
  • Supported a series of adapted bike-building events, and led similar bike-building events with local organizations.
  • Made stuffed animals with patients at local children’s hospitals.
  • Supported various awareness months, including Movember, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (our team participated in the Great Cycle Challenge), and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
  • Built guitars for the Aladina Foundation, which works to help children who are hospitalized or chronically ill to reach their goals.
  • Continued with efforts in Moshi, Tanzania, building a daycare and providing other community support.
  • Participated in the Mighty Texas Dog Walk, benefitting Service Dogs, Inc., which provides service dogs to wounded veterans and other disabled Texans completely free of charge.
  • Purchased necessities for The Women's Rights Center and Shelters for the Homeless in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Supported efforts for the East Atlanta Kids Club.
  • Helped with emergency kit assembly at Global Empowerment Mission.
  • Partnered with CHOICE Humanitarian to tackle several of Appfire Town’s 2023 themes, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, and Quality Education.

In Appfire Town, there is no cause too small. We're happy to support the people and initiatives dear to you. If you have questions about Appfire Town or there is a cause you want to support, contact Fabian Lopez to start the discussion today.
