Job Purpose and Overview
 
Appfire is looking for a talented Principal Product Manager, Platform. In this role,  you will work with leadership to define a vision for the Appfire platform. Your mission is to then define, lead and deliver upon the strategy that delivers upon the vision.  You will work with a cross-functional team including engineering and product management to develop underlying capabilities that enable the strategy.   Your initial success will result in increased adoption of platform functionality as well as reduced time spent developing redundant components in standalone apps.
 
Location: Your manager works remotely, and you’ll also be able to work remotely from within the United States. 
 
 
What You Will Do
  • Lead product management for the Appfire platform
  • With leadership, define a compelling vision for the platform
  • Define the strategy and roadmap to achieve the vision
  • Define clear goals and success criteria in support of the strategy
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Appfire portfolio to understand how the platform facilitates business impact
  • Define platform capabilities based on input from stakeholders
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your strategy
  • Maintain a pulse on progress against your objectives, communicating and adjusting as needed
  • Communicate at multiple levels of the organization regarding progress against objectives
  • Communicate and evangelize the value of the platform to internal stakeholders
  • Identify and fix gaps around adoption and roll-out processes to increase platform usage
What We Would Like To See
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, focus on Product Management or relevant subject area.  MBA Preferred
  • Minimum: 7+ years of product management experience preferably a XaaS consumption model 
  • Minimum: 4+ years experience developing a cloud platform, preferably working with modern cloud technologies
  • Minimum: 4+ years of experience in working with technical requirements like APIs, authentications models, security, availability, GDPR
  • Preferred: 2+ years using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) to deliver products / services
  • Preferred: Product Management Certification (AIPMM, Pragmatic Institute, 280 Group)
