Job Purpose and Overview
 
Appfire is looking for a talented Director of Product, to lead product management for the Workflow & Automation (WF&A) category of products within our expanding portfolio of apps.  Your mission will be to grow revenue across the category, lead the strategic initiatives and build and mentor the team.   In partnership with the  leadership team, you will develop and deliver a clear strategy for your products that establishes a winning position in the marketplace. Within this role, you will partner with key stakeholders including our talented stars in engineering, marketing & support to  accelerate growth and improve customer engagement within your product category.
 
Location: Your manager works remotely, and you’ll also be able to work remotely. This job will require EST as core business hours.
 
 
What You Will Do
 
  • Product Leadership Accountabilities 
    • Overall product management responsibility for the WF&A category of Appfire apps;
    • Provide vision and leadership for the product category, informed through regular market & competitive analysis and customer interviews;
    • With the leadership team, develop and deliver a clear strategy that establishes a winning position in the marketplace; 
    • Lead execution of the strategy with the supporting team, including definition of product objectives, project milestones and go-to-market activities;
    • Partner with key stakeholders including engineering, marketing & support to ensure successful delivery of your category objectives;
    • Establish and track goals against KPIs for your category, including revenue metrics as well as other leading indicators;
    • Become a  subject matter expert for your category and provide guidance to the leadership team into customer needs, business strategy, marketplace dynamics and competitors; 
    • Report against progress and develop remediation plans where necessary.

 

  • People Leadership Accountabilities 
    • Lead and grow a team of Product Managers; 
    • Provide team coaching , regular feedback, career path and development opportunities, and create a collaborative and open environment; 
    • Set clear objectives and performance expectations with your team members; 
    • Produce and actively participate in knowledge sharing as well as professional development initiatives.
 
What We Would Like to See: 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly across the organization; 
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with a cross-functional team consisting of Engineering, Design, Product Management, and Marketing; 
  • Comfortable with conflicts, capable of influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority; 
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills – capable of explaining complex requirements in simple words; 
  • Self-motivated and can operate and execute with a sense of urgency, discipline, decisiveness and focus; 
  • Experience successfully leading multiple product managers and growing a team; 
  • Understanding of development concepts and logic; Strong interpersonal, analytical, and execution skills;
  • Strong communicator and collaborator.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, focus on Product Management or relevant subject area;
  • MBA (preferred);
  • Minimum seven (7-10) + years of product management experience (required);
  • Minimum two (2) + years using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) to deliver products/services (required);
  • Minimum two (2) + years managing SaaS / Subscription-based software product (required);
  • Three (2)+ years experience using product analytics tools (preferred); 
  • Experience with developer and admin tools (preferred).
