Job Purpose and Overview:

Appfire is looking for a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to report to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to execute Appfire’s world class financial reporting process, prepare Appfire to be public ready, and support Appfire’s explosive growth strategy. This role is fully remote.

 

What You Will Do:

Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

  • Assist with IPO/public company readiness initiatives including design and setup of DFIN financial reporting software
  • Prepare annual PCAOB compliant financial statements and footnotes
  • Review acquired business’ revenue contracts and establish revenue accounting policies in accordance with ASC606.
  • Prepare accounting policy memos related to technical accounting topics such as ASC805 purchase accounting, ASC718 Stock Compensation, ASC842 Lease Accounting, and ASC606 revenue accounting.
  • Provide research and support on the implementation of accounting policies and the accounting for complex transactions 

Process Improvement, SOX implementation, and Audit Coordination

  • Design and implement SOX controls around financial processes from initiation through reporting
  • Assist with financial process optimization including designing and optimizing NetSuite’s financial reporting and integrating acquired business’ within NetSuite’s financial reporting and financial controls structure
  • Administration of the audit function with external auditors including working cross-functionally with Engineering, Human Resources, Legal, and International Finance teams to coordinate and facilitate auditor requests

About You:

  • 3+ years of public accounting experience in a Big 4, or large National Firm.
  • Technology related experience (SAAS software or recurring revenue business model)
  • Experience with SEC clients, both auditing financial reporting and SOX compliance
  • Experience with NetSuite or another comparable tier 1 accounting ERP systems either as an auditor or within a company
  • Industry experience within a public company a plus but not required
  • B.S. in Accounting
  • Ideally, but not required, CPA license
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and metrics-driven leveraging data to support business decisions
  • Ability to summarize and present information concisely, both written and verbally
  • Desire to receive feedback and implement changes in a highly iterative manner
  • Impeccable integrity and empathy; words and actions must continually reinforce this characteristic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment
  • Ability to persevere and demonstrate resilience to obstacles and persist tirelessly towards set goals
