Jexo brings popular planning tools — and unmatched creativity — to Appfire

Appfire acquires Jexo

We are so excited to share that Appfire has acquired Jexo’s talented team and popular cloud apps built on Atlassian Forge and Connect, expanding our capabilities in Agile planning — and they’re bringing that unmistakable Jexo creativity to our ranks. We’re thrilled to bring on a team that is equally committed to a people-first culture while offering a range of products that help teams everywhere plan and deliver their best work.

Established in 2018, Jexo quickly became well-known and respected in the Atlassian ecosystem thanks in part to the unique and energetic digital presence of co-founders Biro Florin and Nikki Závadská. The two host the Monday Coffee with Jexo podcast and planned the first PM72 Summit last year, which drew 2,000 attendees. Not to mention their blog, which attracts 15,000 readers each month. At its core, Biro and Nikki wanted to build a company focused on culture and professional growth and, having experience in work management solutions, decided to focus on simplifying how teams manage their work in Jira. Through better education and tooling, Jexo has contributed to making managing work fun and accessible to everyone.

Essential, simplified apps for team planning and productivity

With all the great products available to support project managers and team planning, Jexo’s secret sauce is simplicity. Five of their apps align with Atlassian Jira and make roadmapping and prioritization simple for any team, helping them plan product development roadmaps and assign tasks to users, track the status of their roadmaps and report status updates via dashboards, measure risk across projects, and prioritize backlog issues.

Jexo’s flagship app, Swanly, is built for teams and managers who need to plan and keep track of work across projects. It brings clarity, structure, and visibility to the work in Jira and is a go-to hub for planning, tracking, and reporting work there. It’s an easy-to-use roadmap timeline that connects Jira data from across projects and teams in a way that can be understood by anyone. And Jexo’s popular Foxly brings transparency and structure to any work prioritization process, identifying the most impactful tasks while bringing teams together to decide on priorities.

The addition of these cloud apps to Appfire’s portfolio reinforces our commitment to the cloud transition and to providing essential user interfaces.

“This is truly a ‘better together’ story, and together we are poised to make a big impact. We’re excited to amplify [Jexo’s] creative approach to provide educational value to customers of Atlassian, Microsoft, Salesforce, Slack, and other great platforms that our products serve.”

Appfire and Jexo — a “better together” story

Appfire and Jexo have developed a strong partnership in the Atlassian ecosystem, sharing the stage at industry conferences and aligning on core values and company culture.

“Jexo as a brand grew in popularity as a result of the awesome work achieved by a team that has freedom of expression and room to experiment and grow,” says Biro. “Having spent time with the Appfire team, we realize we share a lot in common. Appfire offers an exciting work environment and a wealth of talent. Given that our mission has always been to have a great workplace where we can grow professionally, experiment with our creativity, and deliver work we’re proud of, joining Appfire allows us to double down on that mission.”

“Great businesses are built by great people, so when you find a team whose culture and values align with your own, you find a way to work together,” says Appfire Co-Founder and CEO Randall Ward. “This is truly a ‘better together’ story, and together we are poised to make a big impact. Jexo is widely known across the Atlassian ecosystem for its creativity and digital marketing presence, so in addition to bringing on their suite of apps that simplify planning and delivery, we’re excited to amplify their creative approach to provide educational value to customers of Atlassian, Microsoft, Salesforce, Slack, and other great platforms that our products serve.”
