We were thrilled to be back in Las Vegas last week for Atlassian Team ‘23, this year as a strategic sponsor. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but after spending time with our incomparable customers and partners and all the wonderful members of the Atlassian ecosystem, what happens in Vegas gets proudly shared in a blog post!

Appfire has participated in this flagship event for Atlassian since the very first one took place in 2009, each year gaining more insight from and building stronger relationships with those in this community. And we always appreciate the opportunity to connect in person and have a little fun together (hello, BASH!). Here’s a recap of our week — what we’re most proud of and what we’re most excited about as we look to the future of this incredible ecosystem.

Spending meaningful time with our partners and customers

The energy at the Appfire booth this year was, well, on fire. As the trusted marketplace solution provider in the Atlassian ecosystem, we were excited to showcase our three featured solutions — ITSM, Workflow & Automation, and Migrate & Manage — all designed to help teams make work flow. We loved sharing demos of our products and getting feedback from our customers, learning about their needs and challenges, and enjoyed nurturing and deepening our partner relationships through insightful conversations about our solutions and programs.

And we were so grateful to our Appfire team members who presented on main stages and virtually throughout the event, tackling a range of timely topics:

  • Unlock faster time-to-value: Consolidating your app approval and deployment
  • Incident management in space: How to create an out-of-this-world service desk
  • Escape the admin black hole: How a leading satellite provider commands its Atlassian stack
  • A Jira transformation story: How to hack consolidation
  • Tame the data chaos: Tips to automate, clean, and scale your Jira instance
  • Building a presence with Atlassian’s channel partners

Embracing the spirit of Atlassian Team

New to Team this year, Appfire presented Monday Coffee — the info-packed and oh-so-fun podcast from yours truly and Jexo co-founder Nikki Zavadska — live from Vegas each day of the conference. It was a chance to give attendees and those who could not be there in person a virtual backstage pass to Atlassian Team ‘23, complete with exclusive video content, interviews, news, event coverage, expo tours, and more. If you missed all the action last week, you can still catch a buzz through our full episodes featuring:

Speaking of new things, we received the Atlassian Partner of the Year 2022 Award for Enterprise Apps, recognized for our Appfire Trust Center that launched last year. We were among 26 global partners recognized during Team ‘23 and we’re honored to be in such great company.

Learning from our community

While in Vegas we also spent time listening to our peers and learning about what’s coming next. Some highlights from Atlassian include:

  • Exploring the growing knowledge worker market and investing in Atlassian Atlas, which provides a high-level view of how projects and goals are tracking, and Atlassian Open DevOps, focusing on an ecosystem that connects the DevOps toolchain to other products outside Atlassian with a focus on interoperability.
  • Continuing to focus on Jira Product Discovery for product ideation, prioritizing, building, and communications, and Atlassian Together, which is a bundled solution that consists of Confluence, Trello, Jira Work Management, Atlas, and Atlassian Access.
  • Supercharging cloud products and embracing AI by leveraging an artificial intelligence engine through collaboration with OpenAI, the minds behind Chat GPT. Demoed as a means to strengthen Jira Service Management, Atlassian Intelligence is positioned as a “virtual teammate,” easy to set up, scalable, and supporting “healthy budgets.”
  • Expanding the capabilities, tools, and features of Confluence with several new offerings, including databases and external collaboration capabilities.

We are so proud — we keep using that word but it’s just so true — to be part of an ecosystem that puts innovation first and continuously keeps its marketplace vibrant and growing. And we are of course grateful to Atlassian for another stellar Team event!
